awareness icon in Sametime embedded

I noticed that in the embedded Sametime in Notes 9 there's a difference between the icons of people in my primary community and people from IBM. I use exst to connect with IBMers.
In the standalone Sametime client this does not happen. I do not have selected the options of showing server community icons, so why is this happening ?
